A few years ago there was a stewardship scheme called TRIO, standing for 'The Responsibility Is Ours' and that rather aptly describes our financial situation at Church of Our Saviour. We do not receive any money from either the Church of England or the United Reformed Church to help us with the day to day running of our church so it is up to us, members and friends of COS to cover our costs. Our running costs includes our clergy, the day to day upkeep of the building and running all the services and groups that make up the life of our church.
If you are able to give in a regular planned way, either weekly or monthly, then that would be a great help as we do have regular commitments and bills to pay just as in any other family. There are various ways of giving, which include:
You can download the Standing Order mandate, complete and return to your bank, or use the account details to setup your own standing order via your internet banking.
We can provide you with an envelope for each week of the year, for you to place your offering in and return in the Offertory Hymn during the Sunday service. Each envelope is uniquely numbered, and enables us to claim Gift Aid on your behalf, if applicable. Please email our Treasurer to request some giving envelopes.
During every Sunday morning we have an Offertory Hymn towards the end of the service. During this hymn you have the opportunity to place a monetary gift in the pocket that is passed along the congregation by the Stewards.
If you are a tax payer, then don’t forget that by Gift Aiding your giving you can increase it by 25% at no extra cost to you. Even if you're not a tax payer, please download and fill in the Gift Aid Declaration form to indicate if we can claim Gift Aid on your behalf, and return to our Treasurer or hand in to a Steward during the Sunday service. You can find further guidance about Gift Aid on the HMRC website.
Thank you so much for being part of the Church of Our Saviour family and helping us to serve God and the people of this community. We couldn’t do it without you!
